Ways to Increase Your Sales

Increase the frequency of visits of your current customers - Study after study has been done indicating that your most immediate source of volume is with your existing customers. Studies also show that your best customers frequent your establishment approximately twice per month. If you could get all of them to visit one more time, you have the potential to increase volume by 33%!

Print out some contest entry forms asking customers for their email address, name phone number and birthday. The prize could be for a free lunch or dinner for two. Ask your staff to give customers the opportunity to fill the form out. Use the email address to send out newsletters for your restaurant. Your might want to include specials, new menu items, and special events. If you have their birthday listed you may want to wish them a happy birthday and include a free menu item to help them celebrate.

Increase the Average Check of your Customers - Train your staff to suggestive sell. Ask customers if they would like an appetizer, dessert or drink. Remember if you suggestive sell to 10 customers, only a couple will buy so don't be discouraged by the results because those couple of customers can add up to thousands of dollars at the end of the year.

Entice new customers to your Restaurants - Get a company logo. Make it memorable and descriptive.
Have good restaurant sign age. Make sure it is easy to read, especially for cars driving by.

Get a Web site and put your menu on it. Print your web site address on your menus and business cards.

Have menus printed and place these menus in motels, businesses, senior centers and schools.

Join the local Chamber of Commerce.

Create a marketing budget (approximately 2-7% of your yearly projected sales and use it. Remember marketing your business leads to sales and if you don't market your business, customers may forget it exists.

Pass out coupons with an expiration date on them that is of large enough print for the customer to read. You can place these in video rental stores and motels.
use them as bounce backs by giving them to customers after they pay to use on their next visit.

Advertise on the radio and local paper. School newspapers are another good source for advertising.
